BlackRock has appointed Nathan Thorne, George Bitar and Mandy Puri as managing directors to lead its direct private equity platform. They will work under Matthew Botein, managing director and head of BlackRock alternative investors.
Most recently, the trio served at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where Thorne was Chairman and president of Merrill Lynch Global Private Equity, Bitar was co-head of North America, and Puri was CIO, adds Private Equity Hub. The firm will be hiring 20 more professionals for the platform.
