Global brokerage, Newedge, has joined the Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX) as a general clearing member (GCM). The move will let Newedge transact, clear and settle customer trades, including any other broker member or trade member of the exchange. Newedge will be able to strengthen its Singapore and Asian presence by offering its global and Asia pacific client base access to SMX commodity and currency derivative products. The commodity broker on agricultural products, energy, emissions and metals also offers global multi-asset brokerage services.
