Barclays Stockbrokers’ clients holding ETFs has risen by 137% in the last two years, IFA Online reports. The average trade size at the firm has also increased by 28% over 2010 and the volume of assets traded has grown by over a third. Investors use ETFs to access the U.K. market, with funds tracking the FTSE 100 collectively accounting for a quarter of purchases by Barclays’ clients in 2010. The top 10 ETF purchases for the year 2010 also includes four emerging market ETFs.
