Analytics firm, Data Explorers, and Markit have formed a new index, the Markit Data Explorers U.S. Sector Sentiment Index, P&I reports. It reflects sector-level investor sentiment resulting from securities lending and short-selling.
The index can be used for portfolio benchmarking and development of index-linked products such as index mutual funds, ETFs, structured products and index futures and options. The firm is also planning to release climate-change investment indexes.
