The best research into Brazil’s sizzling capital markets is provided by UBS Pactual, the firm created last December when Swiss banking giant UBS acquired Rio de Janeiro-based Banco Pactual, according to participants in Institutional Investor’s 2007 All-Brazil Research Team survey.
UBS Pactual analysts are No. 1 in seven out of eight industry sectors and its new director of research, Pedro Batista, is the top equity strategist. Overall, the firm captures 13 total team positions (first, second, third place or runner-up).
