The Royal Bank of Scotland
has tapped Peter Furlong, a credit-default swap trader at Morgan Stanley in London. Ben Gulliver, head of the corporate credit trading desk at RBS, confirmed the hire, noting he will join in a flow trading role. Furlong was on gardening leave and could not be reached for comment. Gulliver himself hails from Morgan Stanley and has now hired a handful of traders from his former firm, including Robert Boeheim and Taro Goto, who in April jumped to Lehman Brothers (DW, 4/28). Carlos Melville, spokesman at Morgan Stanley, declined comment on a replacement.
