New York Firm Snatches CFO

Chimay Capital Management, which manages Bermuda-based Spartan Mullen Chimay I and recently-launched onshore Spartan Mullen Chimay II, has hired Jodi Tan as cfo.

Chimay Capital Management, which manages Bermuda-based Spartan Mullen Chimay I and recently-launched onshore Spartan Mullen Chimay II, has hired Jodi Tan as cfo. Tan joins from pharmaceutical giant Merck, where she spent the last five years managing an $8 billion fixed-income portfolio. “I feel very lucky to have this responsibility, since there are few women in hedge funds,” said Tan of her new position.

CIO Guy Albert de Chimay said he created the cfo role to manage the offshore that launched Jan. 1. This vehicle caters to more sophisticated institutional investors, he said, explaining his desire to hire a cfo who can understand the needs of a large corporate shareholder. Tan’s hire brings the firm’s total headcount to four.
