Itaú Unibanco Holding is the largest private sector banking group in Brazil and became the largest Latin American bank in 2008 following the merger of two local banks, Itaú and Unibanco. Headquartered in São Paulo, Itaú employs roughly 96,000 people around the world and operates in 20 countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas. It offers retail and private banking services and caters to corporate and institutional clients. It owns Rede (also known as Redecard), Brazil’s second-largest credit, debit and benefit card issuer and payment processor.
