Few analysts were surprised when Lenny Comma became CEO of Jack in the Box in January 2014. During his 14 years with the San Diego–based restaurant company, Comma rose quickly through the ranks as the fast food maker went from running predominantly company-owned stores to a largely franchised model. As he explains the shift in strategy along with growth opportunities, especially through its Qdoba Mexican grill brand, it’s clear why Jack in the Box was selected as one of America’s Most Honored Companies of 2015.
