French media company, Lagardere, has delayed the initial public offering (IPO) of its 20% stake in pay-TV company, Canal Plus France, by a few weeks, The Wall Street Journal reports. Analysts have valued the stake at between €1.1 billion and €1.9 billion. The delay may be beneficial for Vivendi, which owns the rest of the pay-TV business, to make an offer for Lagardere’s stake. The two groups previously could not agree on a price and the talks between them failed. Canal Plus France, the unit of Canal Plus Groupe that operates pay TV in France and French territories, is 80% owned by Vivendi.
