Bourse Africa To Begin Operations Mid-2012

The first pan-African commodity spot and multi-asset class exchange Bourse Africa will commence its business in mid-2012.

The first pan-African commodity spot and multi-asset class exchange Bourse Africa (BAL) will commence its business in mid-2012. The exchange is setting up a pan-African exchange platform in Botswana and a network of linked exchanges, fully localized in national and regional markets, across the continent.

BAL is being promoted by Financial Technologies (India), which has designed a tailored and innovative approach to build an African exchange. Financial Technologies is the flagship company of Financial Technologies Group, which offers technology solutions and domain expertise to create and operate financial markets in multi-asset classes across Africa, the Middle East, India and South-east Asia.
