Property developer Quintain is shutting down its sustainable housing unit BioRegional Quintain, Property Week reports. Quintain had established the U.K. sustainable developer in 2005, along with the World Wildlife Foundation and BioRegional Properties, and at its peak had £350 million worth of projects going.

In the current dim economic scenario, the developer is stepping back from non-core projects, which will eventually place numerous high-profile residential schemes at risk, including the London Development Agency’s One Gallions in Docklands where it was to build an eco-friendly development. Quintain will now concentrate on its two large regeneration ventures in Wembley and Greenwich.
