MSCI has appointed Kurt Winkelmann as managing director and head of risk and analytical research, Global Pensions reports. In his new role, Winkelmann will be responsible for setting up the firm’s research agenda and oversee a global team of over 60 researchers across the firm.

Prior to this, Winkelmann was a managing director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He set up and headed the Global Investment Strategies team and was in charge of strategic asset allocation, asset/liability analysis and risk advisory across asset classes for global institutional clients.
