Hughes Communications has appointed Barclays Capital to advise on a sale of the company, Reuters reports. The U.S. broadband satellite services company has received bids mostly from private equity firms and several satellite firms. The Maryland-based company is majority owned by private equity firm Apollo, which has a 57% stake. The second round of bids for Hughes Communications is expected in early February.
