Thomson Reuters has purchased precious and industrial metals markets research and analysis company GFMS for an undisclosed amount. The deal will help Thomson Reuters provide forecast analytics and rich fundamentals content from GFMS alongside its metals news and pricing service on Thomson Reuters Eikon. Philip Klapwijk, Chairman of GFMS, and Paul Walker, CEO of GFMS, will take up new roles as global head of metals analytics and global head of precious metals, respectively. They will work under Mitchel Ingham-Barrow, global head of metals at Thomson Reuters.
