The Nodal Exchange has introduced 32 new power contracts settling on the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (Ercot) locations. The new off-peak contracts will be cleared by U.K. clearinghouse LCH.Clearnet and are available for trading for all four hubs and zones of the electronic commodities exchange.
The contracts, to be cleared 16 daytime hours per day on weekends and holidays and eight nighttime hours per day seven days a week, are available for the current month and subsequent 68 months. Nodal Exchange has rolled out more than 3,800 cleared power contracts since its launch in 2009.
