The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) is seeking to issue a minimum of seven requests for proposals across its portfolio in 2011, Global Pensions reports. The pension fund is searching for securities lending providers, real estate managers, private equity, infrastructure and hedge fund advisors, commodities managers and a risk management system.
The fund will also bring in more than $16 billion of the $40 billion Russell 3000 passive equity portfolio. The pension system currently manages 59% of the portfolio internally. CalSTRS will also scrutinize its global equity managers.
