Monex Buys U.S. Futures Broker For $411M

Japan’s Monex Group will acquire U.S. brokerage firm, TradeStation Group.

Japan’s Monex Group will acquire U.S. brokerage firm, TradeStation Group. The Japanese online stock broker will pay around $411 million in aggregate for the stocks, options, futures and forex broker. TradeStation has appointed JP Morgan as its financial adviser on the deal, while Deutsche Bank is advising Monex on the deal. Major stakeholders in TradeStation include units of institutional investors BlackRock and Fidelity, while Monex is more than 20% owned by Japanese leasing firm, Orix, adds Reuters.
