Charles (Brad) Hintz Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. The buy side says: “He is the voice of experience.”
Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.’s Charles (Brad) Hintz repeats at No. 1, marking his third time at the top in the past four years. The 61-year-old analyst has “a unique long-term perspective that gives him a thorough understanding of the operational issues,” proclaims one fan. Hintz highlighted his buy on CME Group in March, telling clients that the Chicago-based commodities-exchange operator is well positioned to benefit from the economic recovery — when it happens — and that the shares have plenty of room for growth. The stock, then at $299.25, climbed above $307 the following month before being dragged down by market turmoil; by late August it was trading at $265.65, an 11.2 percent loss that nonetheless beat the sector by 14.9 percentage points.
