Investment-research firm Morningstar reported $22.6 billion of inflows for long-term mutual funds in May 2011. Inflows for taxable-bond funds rose to $20.8 billion in May.
International-stock funds gathered about $1.5 billion, with majority of the inflows coming from diversified emerging-markets equity funds. U.S. stock funds posted $4.5 billion outflow in May, while commodities funds assets declined by over $500 million due to falling silver and other commodity prices.
