The Investment Company Institute (ICI) said mutual funds that invest in U.S. and foreign stocks saw outflows of nearly $3.21 billion during the week that ended August 24, The Wall Street Journal reports. Investors took out $2.60 billion from U.S. equities and pulled $610 million from foreign funds. In all, long-term mutual funds, a group excluding money-market funds, witnessed outflows of $2.04 billion. Through August 24, investors have pulled more than $57 billion from stock funds this year. However, they invested $871 million in hybrid funds, $295 million in bond funds and $287 million in taxable funds.
