Team debut: 1997Morgan Stanley’s Jasmine Lu guides her Morgan Stanley squad up from second place to reclaim the No. 1 spot on this lineup it last held four years ago. She also captains her Taiwan group to a second consecutive top finish on that roster. Indeed, one proponent affirms, Lu “has an incredibly wide breadth of knowledge of the Taiwan technology space.” Investors also value her team’s well-informed and timely customer service. Taipei-based Lu explains that her squad of four analysts, who work out of Hong Kong and Taiwan, became more conservative on the regional hardware space late last year. “PC and notebook demand have been weak, and smartphone growth has decelerated off a high base, while the wearable-devices business might be too small to make a significant impact,” explains the 41-year-old leader. “The upgrade cycle has slowed, and we see the risk to average selling prices as skewed to the downside.” In general, the researchers recommend that investors buy “share gainers within the Apple supply chain, wearable proxies and undervalued growth stocks,” she adds.
