Ecclesiastical Insurance Group has implemented a new subsidence risk model from technology provider Business Insight, Post Online reports. Subsidence Insight provides a detailed perspective into the distribution of subsidence and drought-related risk across the U.K. The computer model is based on research combining data about different soil types, property, tree and vegetation data with weather information and local climatic factors. It will boost Ecclesiastical’s high- and low-risk areas, adjust underwriting and pricing approach and offer insight into postcodes with little or no claims data.
