Shrinking of daily trade volumes in the iShares S&P SmallCap 600 Index Fund could be an indicator of bearish trends, Financial News Network Online reports. The fund saw trading in 1.6 million shares on August 24, which rose slightly to 1.9 million on August 28 against an average volume of 2.4 million shares. The reliability of the index rises in line with the volume of trading. The fund’s share prices, moving between a 52-week high of $76.27 and low of $52.01, are now trading 17% above that low price at $61.01 per share. The 200-day moving average (MA) did not change over the last five market days, while the 50-day MA fell 1%.
