RBS Greenwich Capital has named Suprio Chaudhuri and Pia Friis as associate general counsels in its legal and compliance department in Greenwich, Conn. The two positions were created to address compliance and regulatory issues tied to the broker/dealer's expansion into new business products, said Anahaita Kotval, managing director and deputy general counsel at RBS Greenwich Capital. Chaudhuri joins the firm as managing director and associate general counsel after departing Charles Schwab & Co., where he was v.p. and chief compliance counsel. Chaudhuri will report to Kotval. Before joining Charles Schwab, Chaudhuri also worked for the New York Stock Exchange as trial counsel in the Division of Enforcement.
Friis joins the firm as senior v.p. and associate general counsel after departing as a senior associate at Linklaters in New York. Friis will report to Andrew Kwok, managing director and associate general counsel. Friis will provide legal support for the firm's credit markets business, focusing on structured credit products and credit derivatives.
