A Maine superior court jury has found Bank of America guilty of providing a retired executive with poor financial advice that he claimed cost him millions. Reuters reports that a jury of Cumberland Superior Court unanimously found the bank was professionally negligent, and ordered it to pay Darrell Mayeux $7.4 million. According to the suit, the division, then Fleet Bank's Private Client Group, recommended Mayeux take out a $4 million line of credit  secured with stock from his former company, Fairchild Semiconductor. When stock prices fell, Fleet sold all the shares at prices so low, Mayeux's net worth ended up in the negative. Reuters says the bank has yet to decide whether to appeal.
