People think investment are as trustworthy as politicians in Britain, according to a survey by Mintel International Group, a U.K. research firm. In terms of trustworthiness, both received 4% of the vote, with real estate agents at 5% and pension firms a couple notches above at 7%. Financial advisers did slightly better, with 12% of the vote, but they came in below accountants and attorneys (14%). The highest-ranking financial-related profession or organization were banks at 29%, but more than one-third (36%) were critical of them for giving more favorable rates and terms to new customers than existing ones, while 32% complained about having to wait too long for a check to clear. In whom do the Brits trust? Nearly two-thirds (64%) ranked doctors on top. Also ranking fairly high were teachers (42%), police (36%), charities (35%) and supermarkets (30%).
