Denver, Colo.-based law firm Holland & Hart will consider adding advice to its $180 million 401(k) plan. An official said the firm is waiting for regulators to provide a safe harbor for plans that give its participants advice programs before it starts looking. "It's all about being held liable... Come on, we're a bunch of lawyers, we know about lawsuits," she said. "An advice program would be great for our participants because it could help our employees figure out what funds are right for them. For now we're just going to stick with education." She said it is too early to tell whether the firm would issue a full request for proposals.

Holland & Hart has 14 investment options and 10 Fidelity Investments Freedom Funds. Fidelity is also the firm's recordkeeper. Mercer Human Resource Consulting acts as consultant.
