Stenham Asset Management, the $1.6 billion fund of funds and wealth management firm, is growing its team as it pursues more institutional money. "We're becoming more sophisticated," said Harry Wulfsohn, director in London, who explained that institutional investors often demand that managers have a more robust infrastructure. The firm began as a wealth manager to family offices, but recent asset growth has mainly come from institutions, including $300 million from U.K. pension funds, he said.
The firm has lined up two individuals to fill positions akin to that of a chief operating officer, said Wulfsohn. They will join within the next few months. One is an MBA and the other an accountant, he added, without naming the hires. The firm will also add a couple of analysts--one imminently, and another in about six months--to "beef up our quantitative risk management processes," said Wulfsohn. The firm currently has six analysts, reporting to Kevin Arenson, head of asset management. Stenham numbers 28 people in total.
