The curtain is about to fall on Veronis Suhler Stevenson, one of the first investment banking boutiques focusing on the media. According to The New York Post, VSS is planning to get out of the investment-banking business within the next six months and into just leveraged buyouts. Observers say the move is another example of an investment firm leaving the stage rather than create a conflict of interest with clients. In its 25-year history, the firm, founded John Veronis, who launched Psychology Today, and former CBS President John Suhler, advised in $45 billion worth of some 700 deals.
