Smith Barney Consulting Group is planning to streamline its 15-30 page analysts' reports in an effort to better capture the attention and time of investors. Glenn Regan, chief investment officer, said, "We have a major initiative underway to help us rethink what we give our advisors. And make sure our opinion is clearly expressed." He said Smith Barney is intent on making it easier for investors and advisors to understand the sophisticated research that the firm provides, without eliminating any unique content. Consulting Group also is building the first international research center for separate accounts based on its hugely successful model.
