Global hedge fund assets have surpassed the $2 trillion target, Financial Times reports. The total industry assets have increased to $2.02 trillion, up $102 billion in the first quarter of 2011. The assets have exceeded the pre-crisis record of $1.93 trillion set in the second quarter of 2008. Firms handling more than $5 billion accounted for over half of the total $32 billion in investor net inflows.
