China will offer yuan options trading from April 1, Reuters reports. Onshore options trading will be limited to firms and banks using it for hedging purposes instead of for speculation about currency fluctuations.
The onshore options will only be possible to access when they mature and not beforehand and firms will be allowed to trade only call options and not put options. The move will provide a more flexible exchange rate.
