ING Retirement Services’ CEO, Catherine Smith, has been appointed as the commissioner of Connecticut’s Department of Economic and Community Development, Pensions & Investments reports. She will continue in ING till the end of March 2011. Smith will replace Joan McDonald, who left the commissioner’s post on Feb. 1, 2011. Currently, the deputy commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, Ronald Angelo, is the acting commissioner.
