Compartamos will acquire an 82.7% stake in Peruvian lender, Financiera Creditos Arequipa. The Mexican microfinance lender, which will pay around $63 million for the acquisition, will not need to issue equity to fund the deal. The transaction is subjected to the approval of the Peruvian Banking and Insurance Commission and Private Pension Funds. The deal is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
