Brazil has permitted its sovereign wealth fund to act in the foreign exchange market, The Wall Street Journal reports. The government has allowed the fund to buy or sell dollars in the foreign exchange market, along with the central bank and the federal treasury. The fund has also been authorized to act in the foreign exchange derivatives market. The Brazilian government has announced its intention to let the wealth fund act in the forex market at the end of 2010.
