Societe Nationale d’Investissement (SNI) is planning to become a minority investor in several companies to slash its influence over the economy, Bloomberg reports. The Moroccan investment fund will reduce its investment in companies, including the country’s biggest publicly traded bank, its largest maker of cooking oil and its largest sugar refiner. SNI, controlled by the Moroccan king, will disengage from subsidiaries in which it holds majority stakes by offering their control to the market. The fund also owns stakes in Morocco’s biggest insurer, its largest dairy and the largest sugar refiner.
