Compania General de Electricidad (CGE) has raised around $140 million to boost its capital, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Chilean energy holding company has sold 24 million shares of its common stock. The Santiago-based company intends to use the proceeds from the offering to refinance debt and pay for new projects. CGE had issued $90 million in 21-year inflation-indexed bonds to refinance debt and finance new projects in December.
