Tencent Holdings has acquired a majority stake in online video games developer and publisher, Riot Games. The Chinese integrated Internet services provider has not disclosed the financial details of the transaction.

After the completion of the agreement, Riot Games will retain its independent operations and its existing management team will continue to lead all aspects of the company. It will also maintain its headquarters in Los Angeles. The transaction, which is pending regulatory approvals, is scheduled to close within 30 days.
