Europe is expected to see the fastest rise in available distressed property in the first quarter, notably in Ireland, Hungary, Germany and the U.K., according to Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. RICS’s Global Property Distressed Property Monitor for the fourth quarter also suggests that Australia and Portugal may experience higher level of activity, while Russia and Brazil will likely continue their declining trend. France saw the largest increase in investor interest in the fourth quarter, while Ukraine experienced the biggest drop.
