DAK Americas has acquired three South Carolina petrochemical plants from Eastman Chemical. The buyer paid a total of $600 million for the acquisition of Performance Polymers segment’s integrated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) business, related assets and technology.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2011. As part of the deal, the unit of ALFA also gets the intellectual property of Eastman’s integrated PET and purified terephthalic acid (PTA) business, adds Latin American Herald Tribune.
