The Brazilian government has reduced taxes on foreign investments in private equity funds and some stock investments, Reuters reports. The government reduced the tax on foreign exchange transactions by overseas investors into private equity funds to 2% from 6%. The move has been taken to boost long-term financing in the Latin American country. The government has also reduced tax on investors bringing money in the stock market after canceling depositary receipts abroad to 2% from 6%.
