Hedge Funds Cut Back on Privates

The second quarter was the least active period in several quarters — and in some cases, years — for many of the generally most active hedge funds.

Hedge funds or their venture capital arms sharply cut back on their investments in private companies in the second quarter, with some firms experiencing their biggest drop in activity in recent memory.

No doubt many of them have pulled back due to the sharp overall selloff of the stock market, which is in bear market territory amid fears of protracted high inflation.
