David Einhorn’s bearishness appears to have paid off handsomely.

According to a person who has seen the results, Greenlight Capital, Einhorn’s value-driven hedge fund, posted a sizzling 10.6 percent gain in April, a month in which the S&P fell 9.1 percent, its worst monthly performance since the dot-com bubble began to burst in March 2000.
