It’s official: Greenlight Capital avoided the market mauling in January.

The value-driven long-short fund headed by David Einhorn lost a mere 60 basis points — or less than 1 percent — last month, according to a person who has seen the results. This compares with the S&P 500, which despite posting sharp gains in the final two days of the month still fell 5.3
