Mudrick’s SPAC Woes

In addition of the collapse of its popular Topps deal, the hedge fund manager’s first SPAC — which merged with Hycroft Mining — has tanked.

Hedge fund manager Jason Mudrick has suffered setbacks in both of the blank-check companies he has sponsored.

Last week one of the special purpose acquisition companies he brought public, Mudrick Capital Acquisition Corp. II, ended its planned merger with baseball card-maker Topps after the entertainment firm lost its contract with Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association.
