Dan Loeb’s Third Point is the latest hedge fund giant to embrace cryptocurrency.
However, the multistrategy manager stresses that it isn’t drawn to digital currency as an alternative asset class in which to invest.
“We are most intrigued by its potential to become a disruptive technology, impacting broad swaths of the economy,” Loeb told clients of Third Point Offshore in the firm’s second-quarter letter.
