EJF Capital, a $9 billion asset manager that invests primarily in financial institutions, is the latest hedge fund firm to sponsor a blank check company.

EJF Acquisition Corp. filed plans on Tuesday to raise at least $250 million for a special purpose acquisition company, according to its S-1 filing.
