Investors have embraced SPACs, or special purpose acquisition companies that merge with companies to take them public, in hopes their shares will jump when they announce deals.

Shares of at least two of these publicly traded, shell companies — Colonnade Acquisition Corp. and Deerfield Healthcare Technology Acquisitions Corp.
