Some SPAC Stocks Are Surging

Shares of several blank-check companies have surged in price before any deals have even been announced.

SPAC-mania has officially gripped Wall Street.

So far 112 of the special purpose acquisition companies, also called blank-check companies, have gone public this year, raising more than $42 billion, according to SPACinsider.com.

This is nearly twice the number of SPACs to go public last year and more than triple the total amount of money raised last year, according to the SPAC scorekeeper and research firm.
